Fletch is BACK in Fletch Lives. When Fletch is begging for a vacation, he gets a call that he has received "Belle Isle," a Louisiana estate that his Aunt has left him in her will. Fletch quits the paper and moves down there. Expecting a million dollar mansion, Fletch arrives to a run down manor. After the death of his lawyer, Fletch suspects something is up. Turning down large sums of money for his property, Fletch goes incognito to find out the truth. Investigating Bible Land's Jimmy Lee Farnsworth almost get Fletch killed several times. But in the end, Fletch solves the case and his return to the paper is praised. Ultimately, this sequel was better than nothing. The southern atmosphere is a bit of a turn off, but Fletch's quotes, one-liners and antics make the film definitely watchable. A bad sequel is always better than no sequel at all. But this one isn't half bad. |
