NEW CUT SCENE?

BIG NEWS. As if the desire for a Fletch:SE DVD wasn't huge enough, Bandit sent me a photo that came his way that just may answer a lot of questions. The picture is from a newspaper article advertising the upcoming Fletch movie. What it shows is definitely a scene that was CUT. The shot shows old number #99 playing for the Dodgers in probably another dream sequence. Something has to happen in the dream that triggers Fletch to punch the glass out of Chief Karlin's photo and proclaim "I hate Tommy Lasorda!" Did Lasorda scream at Fletch? Cut him from the Dodgers? We'll never really know without a DVD with cut scenes. Which prompts me to beg you all who have not signed the petition...Please do. Here is the link. Fletch DVD Petitions. The choice is yours.

What do you guys think...? Post about it in the Message Board. Let me know what you think the scene was. Or even better..write up a fan fiction of the dream sequence and submit it to me for the Win a Gregory McDonald Autograph Contest.

I am in the process of redesigning the website. It's going to get an entire overhaul. The site might be too big, and too popular for Tripod to handle. Seems like we've used up 727MB or our allotted 1GB for the month. So please bear with the down times (seems like they are always from 2:30-4:30 and then at around midnight). Dont forget the backup site is located at http://geocities.com/fletchwon2002/ . Another thing, I'm trying to get in contact with Ryan Kirk who wrote all the Fletch Book write-ups. I've tried emailing him a few times. Ryan, if you read this, shoot me an e-mail to lakerjim@comcast.net

Chevy on Politically Incorrect

Sorry I haven't updated in awhile. Been really busy. Like I posted in the Message Board, Chevy was on Politically Incorrect on Friday. He was very funny. Chevy Chase: Unauthorized! has got some great photos and a full scoop on the show. Go to their site by clicking on the picture, then Zipity doo dahing over to their Updates section.

On the newly released Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back DVD, Jason Lee's filmography does include "...Irwin "Fletch" Fletcher - Fletch Won,2003" Thanks to Jared and Jake

I'm sure some of you have experienced that the site has been down occasionally. Tripod's claiming that we are exceeding their bandwidth. Witch is good and bad. Good that they allow 1GB of bandwidth and fans are obliterating it with hits. Keep the hits coming. Just know this site will never go down for good. I'm looking into buying some extra bandwidth from them to avoid the site being down. I got a very nice and concerned email from Erik who stated "Doesn't Tripod know how important your site is?"

Our website has received a tremendous award from the greatest 80's website on the net. The Gold Award has been awarded to us from www.Fast-Rewind.com. Our past misunderstanding has been cleared us and the webmaster there seems to be a pretty good guy...and a BIG Fletch fan. Check it out...our site has been added to the Fletch section with some very nice words about it. While you are there, check out theri whole site, they have tons of great 80's movie stuff. The award is located on our main page.

February 14, 2002 .--------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope everyone has a very special Valentines Day today with their own special Mrs. Stanwyk. Don't be afraid to order your lady 2 bottles of vintage 1985 Dom Perignon (the 85 magnum Dom retails for $325 a bottle).

Inspired by a Fletch fan, Matt Smith, that emailed me with the question...I searched the net to find a Fletch ringtone for your Nokia Cellular Phones. And For gosh darn darn I found one. Its sounds cool! Listen to it by Clicking Here ! The website is called 121 Phonetones and Logos and is based in the UK. Calls cost £1.50 per minute at all times and the average call length is 2.5 mins (whatever that equals in American dollars, cause I don't know). Click where it says "If this is your first time"...which also, ironically, might be said a lot tonight. I'll add it to the download section too so you'll be able to find the info in the future.

February 12, 2002 .--------------------------------------------------------------------

EW's Winner of the Week!

I finally got a scan of the Chevy Chase mention in the January 4th issue of Entertainment Weekly. In it, Chevy is characterized in their classic style as the "Winner of the Week" for his new upcoming sit-com about raising three daughters. Wonder when the last Chevy was winner of the week in anything! I just hope the show pans out.

There is a new "smaller" version of the Fletch theme (but the sound is super!). It's located in the Sounds Section. (Thanks to Jon for making it and sending it in)

Also, Fletch is mentioned in Maxim this month on page 115 in the Mr. Movie Quote Quiz. "Question 1, A state trooper pulls you over for driving 120 mph in a school zone, on the wrong side of the street, with a license that expired during the Regan administration. You roll down the window and say: B. Can I borrow a towel? My car just hit a water buffalo!

George Wyner in AP2

American Pie 2 is out on DVD as you all probably know. Don't forget that our own Arnold T. Pants, Esq., George Wyner has a great role in it as a Band Camp counselor. So if you missed it in the movies, go out and rent it. Wyner, 57, still looks good enough to hop right back into the role of Gillet. Check out the screen shots I took by clicking on the picture. You can also look for him in "Not Another Teen Movie."

Geometry Richard came up with another Jason Lee/Fletch similarity. In both Mallrats and Fletch a nosebleed story is made up (Easter Bunny & Mr. Poon)

In the very back of the Bluntman and Chronic Trade Paperback, it says, "Hey, shouldn't we be shooting Fletch right about now?" Glad he still remembers :) Thanks to Vince Elsing.

January 16, 2002 ..............................................................................................
Like I reported last Friday, Chevy appeared as guest host on "The Other Half." It wasn't the un-aired one I thought. It was a brand new episode. On it Chevy did a little cooking, talked about bargaining with your partner for sex, the annoyance of cell phones, and more. Chevy was very witty on it. Apart from Mario "AC Slater" Lopez, the rest of the gang was pretty dry...So Chevy looked extra funny.

Paulos was kind enough to send us some dinomite screen shots to support one of my JASON LEE vs. FLETCH similatities. I combined the two pictures to show everyone just how similar the two hats they wear are. Check it out here

Well, it'd been days since Vulgarthon and I'm still beat. It was a loooooon day...but fun. Fletch Won was brought up once and Kevin answered it like he's done a million times before. Thanks to those of you who introduced yourself to me. It was a nice surprised to meet many of you that enjoy the site so much.

The long lost "Other Half" Chevy show (that was supposed to air back in November) will air today (Friday Morning) at 10:00 AM EST on NBC. I'll have pics up soon...and IF it airs.

Also, there is a long Fletch Lives Script Update today. Check out section 8. Lots of new stuff. Reveals what happens behind the scenes between Fletch's Healing and his Golf Cart ride through Bibleland.

January 6, 2002.................................................................................................
Hey Fletch Fans....things have been quiet in Fletch Land. Tomorrow we are going to Vulgathon. Should be fun. If any Fletch fans see me there (wearing my Fletch Jersey of course), feel free to come up and say "Hi." I look forward to seeing you all there. I'll take lots of pictures and will try to get a few Fletch questions in during the Q&A. I'll have a full report of the day up on the site either Weds or Thurs.

I should have a new book section (Confess, Fletch) as well as a new section of the Fletch Lives script up soon as well. Talk to you all soon and keep posting on the Message Board! :)

January 2, 2002.................................................................................................
Happy New year everyone....Again, I hope everyone is safe. Wow, 2002...possibly the year of Fletch Won. Cross your fingers and hopefully this year will be jam packed with Fletch news.

DVDfile.com reports that we are going to get our first ever DVD with commentary from Chevy. No, unfortunately it's not Fletch. But it is European Vacation...a movie I like very much. Hopefully it'll be the start of something. The DVD is due out April 2. Thanks to Kurt for the heads up.

I was able to get my hands on a very rare Fletch "For Your OSCAR Consideration" announcement trade ad centerfold. The one day only ad came from the Thursday November 14th, 1985 edition of The Hollywood Reporter. It asks consideration for Chevy Chase as Best Actor, Michael Ritchie as Best Director, Andrew Bergman as Best Screenplay, and Harold Faltermeyer as Best Original Score.
